Finally, there is a way for you to get into the Queen’s pants. A pair of rather fetching bloomers, framed in a delightful display case, have been sold on auction for the bargain price of only £10 000.
The bloomers were sold as part of a larger collection of Royal Memorabilia, put up for auction by the US publishing dynasty, Forbes. Among some of the other items up for sale were silk stockings, pictures, letters and items of furniture. Even a bed slept in by Elizabeth Taylor went under the hammer, fetching a modest £9 500.
In total, almost £3 million was raised by the auction, including the sale of two paintings for approximately £500 000 each.
If owning Royal stuff is your thing, get ready. Jewels are going to be up for auction, expected to go under the hammer in November in Yorkshire.
