South African roads are always scary during the holidays.
Five people lost their lives during a horrifying 41-vehicle crash that sent cars flying all along the road in KZN. The accident occurred on Monday afternoon on the N3 between Hilton and Cedara.
Footage released via News24 shows the extent of the damage and it leaves one surprised that more lives were not lost.
Late last night emergency personnel were still on site assisting survivors and transporting critical patients to healthcare facilities for urgent medical attention.
The accident is believed to have been caused by misty conditions and involved five trucks, eight minibus taxis, and 22 light motor vehicles.
See the aftermath below, and although it is SFW, rather not watch if you are easily upset by images of destruction like this.
We hope all the injured will recover quickly and thank all of the personnel and locals who helped those in need.
