South African schools have a rich history when it comes to rugby traditions, especially so if it is a ‘rugby school’.
A video posted to Instagram features a Paul Roos tradition that has been part of the school’s annual buildup to their derby with that other rugby-mad school, Grey College.
It’s a lekker harde tradition by the looks of it, and although not as ‘out there’ as Kamp Staaldraad, it’s still a reminder that schoolboy rugby packs a punch. Looks fun though.

Seems much better than my old high school’s rugby tradition of playing Ystermannetjie after practice. If you remember it, you’d know. You’re also too old for rugby now.
