In an interview about her upcoming memoir, My Name is Barbra, two-time Oscar-winning Streisand told the BBC that she was annoyed with how Siri was pronouncing her name, and with a true superstar flex, she called the CEO of Apple to get him to “fix it”.
“My name isn’t spelled with a ‘Z’,” she argued. “It’s Strei-sand, like sand on the beach. How simple can you get?”
Naturally, when Yentl calls you, you listen, and CEO Tim Cook promised to get Siri in line. “And Tim Cook was so lovely. He had Siri change the pronunciation… I guess that’s one perk of fame!” said the singer.
Streisand’s autobiography became available for pre-order earlier this year, and quickly became a No. 1 bestseller.

The autobiography encompasses the EGOT winner’s 60-year career in entertainment and beyond, beginning with her difficulties and early upbringing in Brooklyn and progressing to her “first star-making appearances in New York nightclubs,” which began her “string of successes,” according to publisher Penguin Random House.
“The book is, like Barbra herself, frank, funny, opinionated, and charming,” the publisher wrote on its website.
