Jealousy can make you crazy. And exes can be infuriating. The man who was killed yesterday afternoon outside St George’s Grammar in Mowbray was shot by the ex-husband of the woman he was engaged to. While there’s still uncertainty around why he resorted to pulling out a gun, it’s not hard to surmise there was no love lost between the fiance and the former husband.
The victim, a 37 year old Manenburg man named Rashied Moses, died in full view of pupils leaving the school to go home for the day, when he was shot in the face and neck following what witnesses describe as an “altercation” between him and the perpetrator. Moses’ fiancee was there too, waiting to pick up the kids she shared with her ex – allegedly a boy and a girl aged 12 and 16.
What a shocker for your children to witness.
The man has been charged with murder and has appeared before the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court today.
(Interesting fact: St George’s Grammar is the oldest private school in South Africa.)
