For a little over a month now, K-Pop sensation Psy’s Gangnam Style has been carving its way to the top of charts and recently dethroned Carly Rae Jepson and Justin Beiber on the YouTube 100 Chart. How? As the most viewed current video, when it broke 100 000 000 views. However, there’s more to the song, and its origins, than the chubby Korean doing his crazy horse dance.
Die Antwoord just dropped a new video. It is a remix of the MIMS track, “This is Why I’m Hot”. Within 24 hours, it has already clocked up more than 40 000 views on YouTube. The description under it reads: “a raw-ass lil home-made video we made on tour jus 4 fun.”

In March this year, the Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot were arrested following an unauthorised performance at Moscow’s main Russian Orthodox cathedral. Part of their performance included chanting: “Mother Mary please drive Putin away.” They have now been sentenced to two years in prison for “hooliganism motivated by religious hatred.”
