  • WHEN BIKER MAGAZINES WERE TOUGH

16 Sep 2010 by Jasmine Stone in Media, World

When it broke onto news agents’ racks in the 1970s, everyone knew that “Easyriders” was reading material for tough guys.

Furthermore, you knew that those guys probably had beards, leather jackets, and a primal love for their mothers.

But the headlines on the covers themselves left absolutely no doubt.

These are some of my favourites from a collection of 1970s Easyrider magazines:

    “Why men wear beards”

“How to get rid of your woman”

    “Positive prison reform plan”

    “Leg-wettin’ scooter features”

    “Important anti-helmet info”

Enjoy the covers after the jump.

WARNING: Gratuitous thousand yard stares, ritual choking and headbands.

    Class 002

A biker’s woman knows she ought to hold tight…

    Class 003

The ol’ grabbed-from-behind…Works like a charm

    Class 004

    Choking – a gentleman knows

    Great vibe there.
