    It’s called iPlayboy because, well hell, what else were they going to call it? The appeal here is not so much that you get to see tastefully nude photographs in glorious iPad detail as the fact that the application offers full access to the Playboy archives – you would own every Playboy issue ever. Welcome to the future.

    I mean, obviously there’s some weirdness here – you’re using sexy Apple technology to read soft porn magazines, and even if you’re reading them ‘for the articles’, this doesn’t gell too well with Steve Jobs’ ‘freedom from pornography’ spiel when denying other risque apps. That said, back in ’72 Playboy seriously did motivate some pretty great journalism, and it’d be nice to have access to that again.

    Subscriptions are looking to be around R55/month or R700/year, depending on how commited you are to these things.
