That’s right. Mike Judge, the man behind the Office Space and Idiocracy, has brought back his infamous 1990’s animated comedy. The first episode aired last night on MTV, and is pretty damn funny.
Beavis and Butthead is legendary. This was the show that inspired South Park, made parents angry, and provided some of the best social commentary on the 90’s. The show’s format was pretty simple: Beavis and Butthead are two stupid middle American teenagers, and the show follows them in a series of short misadventures. These can range from setting things on fire, hocking loogies, or fighting with school teachers. In between these short stories, the two would mock the music videos of the time.
The format has changed a little, with commentary not only on music videos but now also on reality shows like Jersey Shore and Sixteen and Pregnant. On last night’s first episode of the reboot, victims included MGMT, and the latest Twilight movie.
I can’t wait to see what this season is going to bring. Episodes air every Thursday on MTV, and hopefully it’ll be on DSTv pretty soon. I haven’t laughed this hard in a while.
