The unknown driver, described only as an “internet millionaire”, had taken the sports car on a test drive on a highway in southern California when the car inexplicably burst into flames. Some internet sources suggest the problem may have originated from the left rear wheel, however this has not yet been confirmed.
After pulling off of the main road, the driver managed to get to safety and joined the gathering crowd spectating as the car burnt. The damage looked to be significant to say the least, and fire fighters could be seen digging into the fuselage with ease.
After the flames were put out, the prospective buyer was still in high spirits and posed next to the wreckage for a photo. I’m sure he would not have been as cheery had he already bought the car.
