Chelsea FC footballer, Eden Hazard, was sent off after receiving a red card during last night’s match against Swansea. Hazard was penalised for kicking a ball boy in the ribs.

It is believed the Swansea ball boy was trying to pick up the ball, but he wasn’t quite fast enough for Hazard. The athlete then tried to kick the ball out of the boy’s hands, ending up hurting him in the process.

Another Chelsea player, Demba Ba, can be seen comforting the boy afterwards in the picture above.

Following Hazard’s red card, Chelsea FC’s Twitter account sent the following tweet (which has since been deleted), accusing the ball boy of “trying to smother the ball”:
