Elgin, it’s a beautiful place. Like a scene from a Blake poem, it’s all dew drops, unpasteurised cheese and wood fires, fresh fruit and good wine. Which makes it’s the perfect place to host a wine festival.
On Saturday, 4 May, 15 wineries in Elgin will open their doors to visitors to the Elgin Wine Festival.
The day is divided into three sessions – morning, lunch and afternoon – starting at 09h00 and ending at 17h00.
As a festival goer, you’ll book three winery venues of your choice to visit over the course of the day. So that’s one winery per session. We know, but tough choices must be made.
Each winery will offer some form of entertainment varying from live bands, boullè, art collections, tractor rides, kids playgrounds and so on.
The really important bit to know is that wines will be sold by-the-glass and bottle, with lunches will be available at all lunchtime venues.
Tickets are R100 per person which includes entry into three wineries, a free wine glass, one free wine pour, and a festival leaflet.
CLICK HERE to buy tickets online.
Tickets must be collected from the Elgin Valley Tourism Office (located at Peregrine Farmstall), anytime before, or on the day of the festival.
