25-year-old Matthew Gough cheated death when his parachute got twisted after a base jump in Lake Garda, Italy. Gough was travelling the world doing extreme stunts, but his “tour” came to an abrupt halt when he jumped 1 000ft into open air – only to get the terror of his life – a parachute that decided to get twisted upon opening.
The footage of Gough’s “fall to earth” was caught by the camera attached to his helmet and shows the struggle he endured during the ordeal.

Don’t worry Gough escaped with only minor injuries to his ankles and knees. Gough is still keen to carry on adding to the 180 base jumps he has done.
My parents are desperate for me to stop, but I fully accept the dangers.
