Well, this is awkward. Desmond Tutu officially joined Twitter today under the handle, @TutuLegacy, but the social media service suspended the account after a few short hours for “aggressive following”, despite the handle having only followed 30 other accounts.
Glenda Nevill, the editor of The Media Online spotted the suspension and tweeted Twitter’s support account, who have not yet responded to the issue.
Journalist, Ray Joseph summed up the awkwardness of the situation fairly succinctly.
