Elysium Space is offering the best deal around town to get you or your loved one to space by next year.

For a cool R19,594 you could be on your way to space. So what’s the catch? To board the CubeStat heading to the outer limits, you have to be dead.

To sign up, all you have to do is go to the Elysium Space website, fill out an application form and pay the fee. The company will then send you a package into which you can scoop the ashes of your loved one, and send back to them. The remains will be packaged in a capsule, and prepared for take off!

The first trip is scheduled for Summer 2014, and will take place at the Canaveral Air Station and Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The whole experience will be broadcast over the internet, and will be produced professionally on a video for your viewing pleasure.

The best part about this whole thing? The Elysium Space project has an Android app (don’t worry, iPhone app coming soon) that will allow you to track the remains of your loved one as they orbit the earth for several months, before returning to the atmosphere, to literally go out in a fiery blaze of glory.
