Some rich guy (or girl) just purchased a super rare 1967 Ferrari for $27,5 million (R279,034,843.84) and set a world record!
The Ferrari 275 GTB/4*S N.A.R.T. Spider was sold on Saturday night in Monterey, California, and makes it the most expensive road car ever sold at an auction.
The original owner, Eddie Smith Jr., said:
This is a bittersweet moment for us, Ferraris came and went, but this one never went, thank God. We enjoyed it as a family for 45 years.
Smith’s father acquired the car in 1968 for $14,000, the equivalent of $100,000 (R1,014,672) today. Smith said his family will be donating the proceeds from the sale to charity.
The name of the lucky new owner of this very rare car has not been released.
