A deaf seven-year-old Guatemalan boy can now hear thanks to missionary, Erin Van Oordt, who brought him to America for a life changing cochlear implant operation. Advanced Bionics donated equipment totalling close to R400,000 so that the operation could be performed to allow this boy to hear.
Look at his face as his life changes forever as he hears his mother’s voice for the first time and tapping on the table. Henry Rivera has to spend a couple more months in America to learn to understand what he is hearing until he can go back home to Guatemala to be with his family.
