Miss Philippines took the title of Miss World in Bali, Indonesia on Sunday. 23-year-old Megan Young, who was born in the United States, and then moved to the Philippines.
Philippines President Benigno Aquino’s communications secretary Ramon Carandang said:
Over the course of the competition, Ms. Young displayed to the world the beauty, the grace, and the compassionate spirit of the Filipina and has become a source of great pride and inspiration for the Filipino people.
Miss France, Marine Lorphelin, came in second place, and Miss Ghana, Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter, took third.
