In 2009, film maker Alex Gibney set out to make a film documenting Lance Armstrong’s comeback year in cycling. For the whole year, Armstrong lied to Gibney’s face. In ‘The Armstrong Lie’, Lance finally sets the record straight. “A cancer survivor overcoming the disease comes back and wins. Yeah, they liked that.”
Says Gibney: “This is not a story about doping. It’s a story about power and the story became hanging onto that power.”
