You think Britain’s got talent? Think again – Holland has talent. Please meet nine year-old Amira Willighagen. Her absoluely astounding rendition of Puccini’s ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’ from the opera ‘Gianni Schicchi’ earned her a Golden Ticket from the judges – taking her straight through to the live show.
Even more surprising than her gigantic voice is the fact that she is completely self-taught. She used only YouTube tutorial videos in order to learn. She told the judges:
My brother Vincent plays violin, and I also wanted to do something… So I thought, I’m going to sing… and then I heard opera songs, which I found very beautiful and that’s when I started singing.
Simple as that.
