The Hennessey Venom GT became the world’s fastest production car when it achieved 270.49 mph (434kph). It took the top spot from the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport 269.86 mph record. Check out the Venom GT’s run that was done at the Kennedy Space Center.
Hennessey used 2.4 miles of the 3.2-mile-long space-shuttle-landing runway for the Venom GT to get up to 270.49 mph. Leaving only 0.8 miles to come to a halt. The custom-ordered $1.8 million car takes 6-months to build. Its turbocharged V8 engine puts out 1244 bhp.
The Venom GT may not have all the luxurious features of the Veyron but at least it’s cheaper and faster.
