We often take the ability to hear for granted. Watch the moment when a 40-year-old woman, who has been deaf since birth, was able to hear for the first time.
When the electronic implants in her ears were switched on, Joanne Milne was brought to tears. Simply hearing the days of the week recited, had her balling non stop.
Hearing things for the first time is so, so emotional, from the ping of a light switch to running water. I can’t stop crying,” said Joanne Milne.
