Microsoft has recently shelved its famous operating system, Windows XP. Let’s take a trip down memory lane: here’s the story behind XP’s iconic default background, “Bliss.”
What might be the most recognised desktop background ever was taken by photographer Charles O’Rear in 1996. While driving along Highway 121 in California, he decided to turn off and take a picture of the landscape. And get this: there’s no editing at all.
