While Cape Town gets all the love for it’s natural beauty, and Joburg gets the praise for it’s awesome cultural diversity and business opportunities, Durban is often left out of the pat-on-the-back treatment, but no longer!
CNN has named the coastal city as one of the ten most underrated cities in the world, alongside the likes of Lisbon, Glasgow and Hoi An in Vietnam.
Big draws include surf-friendly golden beaches, many temples and mosques (including the beautiful — and beautifully named — Hare Krishna Temple of Understanding, the uShaka Marine World theme park and the mammoth art deco-style Suncoast Casino, which doubles as a shopping mall and has its own private beach.
CNN also go on to praise the “piping hot” bunny chow, and let’s be honest, you can’t argue with that.
