In another horrific act of animal cruelty, one of Kenya’s most well-known elephants was hunted down and killed for his tusks.

Satao, who was about 45 years old, was believed to be one of the largest living elephants in the world and had amazingly long tusks which almost reached the ground.

The wildlife workers at Tsavo East National Park said that they were able to identify Satao from the patterns on his ears.

Today it is with enormous regret that we confirm there is no doubt that Satao is dead, killed by an ivory poacher’s poisoned arrow to feed the seemingly insatiable demand for ivory in far off countries. A great life lost so that someone far away can have a trinket on their mantelpiece.

The loss of Satao is nothing less than a travesty, and many people across social media have expressed their hurt and anger over the killing, and if you’d like to make a stand, there are some other things that can be done to help with wildlife conservation in Southern and greater Africa.

The new GOOD VIBES charity bracelet channels money three ways, including the Wildlife ACT fund, which runs critical endangered and priority conservation projects in Africa, for animals including rhino and elephant.

The bracelet is pretty cool and shows your support for three important causes.
