Just like the inevitability of death, it was only a matter of time before North Korea got a bit upset about James Franco and Seth Rogan’s upcoming movie, The Interview.
The Interview sees the two stars, playing news reporters, going on an adventure to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
“There is a special irony in this storyline as it shows the desperation of the US government and American society,” said Kim Myong-chol, executive director of The Centre for North Korea-US Peace.
A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine. And let us not forget who killed [President John F.] Kennedy – Americans. In fact, President [Barack] Obama should be careful in case the US military wants to kill him as well.
Myong-chol has a point, but we don’t really think the guys who brought us Pineapple Express are really aiming for some political commentary. North Korea survived Team America, so we’re pretty sure it’ll survive this.
