Well, it’s official. We’re no longer needed to make the headlines… literally.
The Associated Press, one of the biggest news organisations of the world, has decided that robots do better jobs than humans.
The company will introduce mechanical slaves disguised as printing machines to publish more breaking business stories and a larger number of earnings reports – boosting the current output of 300 stories to 4,400 in the same time frame.
“This is about using technology to free journalists to do more journalism and less data processing, not about eliminating jobs,” the AP said. “Most of the staff has been receptive to the effort and involved for the past few months of discussion.”
