Apparently beauty and brains can go hand-in-hand, as Hollywood actress Jessica Alba’s start-up company has now been valued at just under $1 billion.
Alba’s company The Honest Co., which she co-founded in 2011, focuses on developing eco-friendly baby products.
“She is an international star. We’re starting to see a lot of demand from her fans around the world,” said Jeremy Liew, a partner with early investor Lightspeed Venture Partners. “This idea for non-toxic, chemical free products has resonated around the world in developed and developing countries.”
The Honest Co. currently has 275 employees and is set to hit annual revenue of more than $150 million in 2014.
