People around the world will always sit up and take notice when one of Britain’s royal family is embroiled in a sex scandal. People really sit up and take notice when the person involved isn’t Prince Harry.
Over the past week Prince Andrew has been embroiled in a rather messy sex scandal. Of course the line taken by the prince, and Buckingham Palace, has been a complete denial of any wrongdoing on his part.
Now, in what is the first public admission of silliness on the royal’s part, the Duke of York has admitted that associating with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein may have been a little daft.
The Duke strongly denies the allegations but has now told friends of his deep regret at becoming involved with Epstein. He also accepts the allegations have been “deeply uncomfortable” for the Royal Family.
I feel the queen may have used somewhat stronger words than ‘deeply uncomfortable’ when she summoned the Duke home early from his skiing trip in Switzerland. I also feel somewhere out there Harry is wearing a smirk and getting up to some form of misguided mischief. For that, we salute him.
