Cape Town really is a special place. There’s far too much to do as it is, but if you venture out to the Republic of Hout Bay you get the lovely market and some great fish and chips.

Someone got more than they bargained for on the weekend when they took to the waters of Hout Bay on a stand up paddle board (SUP).

That, guys, is a massive whale and her calf, and they swam right up to this very unsuspecting SUPper. Once she saw them, she paddled a bit closer to get a better look, but the whale mum took a big dive underwater and surfaced again within touching distance of the woman.

The lady then realised what was actually happening (huge momma whale vs. teeny tiny human) and began paddling towards the shore, with the whales in tow for a good ten minutes. The whales then decided the ocean was far more fun than being beached and swam away.

    Check out The Daily Mail.

P.S. Well done Cape Town for being awesome again.
