THIS is really and truly what nightmares are made of. I would rather be chased by monsters from under my bed or watch a KUWTK marathon than have this happen to me (I don’t mind if it happens to others, just not me, please).
A Canadian man bought two lottery tickets for the May 23, 2008, Lotto Super 7 draw, just minutes before the actual draw.
The first ticket printed out in time, and was valid for the May 23rd draw. The second ticket, however, printed just after the clock passed the cutoff time of 9pm, seven seconds too late.
He lost out on winning $27 million.
FML.
Actually, FHL.
Ifergan claims he should be awarded $13.5 million — half of the jackpot — because both his tickets were purchased before the 9 p.m. deadline. He says a 10-second processing lag was at fault for his lost winnings.
The poor guy has spent over $100 000 on legal fees so far.
