  • The Prime Minister Of Namibia Says Eugene De Kock “Will Be Killed” If He Goes There

You may have heard the rumour about Eugene de Kock being offered the chance to live in Namibia after his release from prison (which we covered HERE). It has been alleged by several news sources that the South West Africa People’s Organisation (Swapo) sent members to visit de Kock in prison and extended an olive branch.

Well, in the strongest possible terms, Namibian Prime Minister Hage Geingob has denied such rumours. IOL reports:

“If De Kock comes to Namibia he will be killed,” Geingob said on the sidelines of a press conference…

“No Swapo members visited him in prison, and if he comes here, he comes at his own risk. He drowned Namibians in the Atlantic Ocean (during Namibia’s liberation struggle),” Geingob said.

Now, I’m no foreign policies expert but if I was de Kock I may steer clear of our mates to the north.

Geinbob (pictured above) also made mention of the Namibian freedom fighters who were put to death under apartheid. IOL again:

[There were] several hundred Namibian freedom fighters captured by apartheid South Africa who were put in small aeroplanes, injected with a sedative and then thrown out of the planes into the ocean off the Namibian coast.

Suffice to say Namibia’s PM has laid down the law with regards de Kock popping over for a visit. He may still be more popular there than in certain areas of South Africa, I suppose, so maybe lying low for a while is the best course of action.
