This is the only way to wake up this morning – by watching this #StopTheKnot video.
If you live in Cape Town (and the greater international hipster society) you will have noticed guys styling their hair in a top knot. This is like the most vile of little ponytails, held in place by a hair band (yes, dudes are wearing those now) and forming the shape of a half bun half knot type thing.
Guys are actually styling their hair and having it cut like this. It must have started with one poor guy who couldn’t actually afford a barber, and he thought “WOW! This is a fab idea.”
Cue a few of his mates doing the same thing, and what could have been an iconic, individual hairstyle is now as mainstream as hipsters.
Derick Watts & The Sunday Blues took to the streets of Slaapstad with their #StopTheKnot campaign (my gosh I wish I could have been a part of it). What did they do? I’m not going to spoilt it – you need to watch this video.
