Nando’s is always quick and a bit risque with some of its adverts, especially when it comes to poking a bit of fun at public figures and serious matters. With images of dictator President Mugabe of Zimbabwe falling down the stairs at the airport a few weeks ago going viral, surely it was only a matter of time before this happened?
That’s flipping hilarious. Seriously.
But, according to Nando’s Zimbabwe, the advert is NOT theirs.
Nando’s Zimbabwe would like to assure the people of Zimbabwe that this advertisement was neither created or sanctioned by Nando’s.
The brand has also said that the advert “constitutes an abuse of our brand and trademarks and we distance ourselves from this material”.
It’s still LOL funny.
In all seriousness though, Information Minister (of Zim) Jonathan Moyo has said that they learned a lesson when they tried to confiscate the images of Bob falling (most of them still managed to go viral within hours). So, next time, they’re just going to take the whole camera away.
Rad.
