Reality TV has ruined many a life in the past. Think of Donald Trump for example; before he did ‘The Apprentice’ only a few million people knew what a complete knobhead he is.
Well tragedy struck another reality TV show yesterday when two helicopters in Argentina collided mid-air, killing ten people involved in the filming of French survival reality show Dropped. The town of La Rioja’s aviation director, Daniel Gorkich, speculated as to the reasons for the crash with this taken from Mashable:
…both pilots were highly trained and he speculated that afternoon sun and strong winds might have been a factor. At the moment of impact “the sun was setting on the Andes mountain range directly in front of them. Also this is an area with wind gusts…”
The show sees contestants dropped in the harshest environments where they must then find their own way to civilisation. Hmm, I feel like I may have seen something along those lines before.
