Trevor Noah must be high on happiness at the moment what with his new appointment on The Daily Show and, according to rumours of Jon Stewart’s past earnings, T-No is looking at becoming one of the highest-earning South African comedians.
According to Business Insider, Stewart was earning “between $25-million and $35-million a year, making him the highest-paid late-night TV personality”. Put that back into Rands…
Other talk show hosts earn a fair amount as well: the second spot goes to David Letterman, with $20 million for his CBS show, with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Chelsea Handler following.
John Oliver, host of less popular Last Week Tonight, earns $2 million a year so our guess is that T-No will pull in something more than that. So, my dear friends, he’ll be rolling in at least R24 million annually.
It hasn’t yet been announced when Trevor will start on the show, nor what his exact earnings will be, so in the meantime you can watch Trevor and Jon in THAT episode.
