  • Obviously The London Jewellery Heist Robbers Were Old Age Pensioners [Photos]

When one thinks of the people behind a jewellery heist, you have to admit it’s more in the direction of Charlize Theron, Catherine Zeta-Jones, George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg, correct?

Well, alas… Not this time. Instead, paint the characters to look like your granny and grandpa…

Yesterday, 200 officers from the Metropolitan Police raided homes in London and Kent, trying to catch the thieves behind the £60million Hatton Garden gem heist over the Easter Bank holiday weekend.

Good news – nine men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle. The interesting news? Three of them are pensioners. One is a  76-year-old second hand car dealer, another is his 50-year old son. The youngest man in the group is 43. If one adds up the age of the nine, you get a total age of 533.

Officers from the Flying Squad also recovered a “significant amount of jewellery, gems and cash” believed to be from the Hatton Garden stunt.

What’s quite amazing is that the men arrested have been found going about their merry lives. One was arrested in a £500,000 semi-detached home in Enfield, north London, whilst 76-year old Reader was arrested in an “imposing £850,000 property in Dartford, Kent”. Why on earth did these people not leave the country? Surely they should have escaped to the Cayman Islands? Did they want to do another heist? The big one?

The best part is that a few days before the cops swooped in, a neighbour saw the father and son in a heated argument.

They were shouting and swearing at each other really loudly. I could not believe it because they are supposed to be father and son. But whatever the argument was about they were going crazy with each other – with lots of swearing and shouting.

Just when we think these guys are geniuses they let us down. Guy Ritchie would never have allowed this to happen.
