They say it never rains but it pours, and no I’m not talking about today’s atrocious weather. It’s more bad news for tik fiends – hot on the heels of a recent drug bust in Knysna, police in Milnerton have discovered another stash of narcotics, and made a whopping 38 arrests. This from IOL:
Three male suspects were arrested for being in possession of one kilogram of tik valued at R275 000. A 45-year-old man was also arrested for being in possession of two grams of cocaine, while 34 people were also arrested.
In total, the operation saw 55 pre-identified premises, 82 vehicles, and 196 persons being searched.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut, the non-crackhead residents of Milnerton were pretty chuffed by all this:
The presence of police was exceptionally well received by law abiding citizens who reported illegal activity spontaneously.”
We’re glad the police seem to be cracking (arf) down on this, we just wonder which sleepy suburb will be next.
