Woman Breastfeeding Son And Friend’s Son At The Same Time Goes Viral

A mother started breastfeeding her friend's son when he was 5 months old because she wanted to give him the chance to grow up on a healthy, nutritious diet.
A wet-nurse is a term that most of the western world has lost touch with. A healthy alternative to direct breastfeeding, finding a natural supplier of the good stuff can be difficult to come across. So, when a mom posted a pic of her breastfeeding not only her own son, but also her friend’s son, she obviously received a lot of backlash – as well as much support.
And guys, she used the hashtag #MilkSiblings. How appropriately beautiful.
The mom, whose name is Jessica Anne Colletti, explains how she got into the, umm, position:
Breastfeeding my friend’s son came naturally to me. I started babysitting him when he was 5 months old and the first time she dropped him off to me I asked permission to nurse him, since I was already nursing my 3 month old. She responded with an enthusiastic yes, because he was having issues with the formula his previous sitter had been giving him. My friend struggled with breastfeeding in the beginning and succeeded for 9 months. She was always very happy that her son had the nutrition and comfort he needed while she was working. Being able to breastfeed her little boy has created a special bond between us all, a bond I will always cherish.
Breastfeeding is super important to the growth and basic nutritional needs for them young’ngs. Here’s  the smallest of lists from The World Health Organisation’s “Global Strategy On Infant And Young Child Feeding,” listing the best alternatives to direct breastfeeding:
  • Expressed breast milk from an infant’s own mother.
  • Breast milk from a healthy wet nurse or a human-milk bank.
  • Breast-milk substitute fed with a cup.

Perhaps you think the kids are too old – but apparently it’s all good to feed them until the age of two. And perhaps the idea isn’t for everyone, but we need to start breaking away from certain ideas we hold and instead think about the reality of situations.
