The Cape Town CBD has been rocked by a shooting at the city’s train station, initial reports saying one person has been left dead.
Police are currently investigating the incident which occurred earlier today. Here’s what we know from News24:
Western Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel André Traut said an unknown man allegedly shot himself at platform 24 at about midday…
Witnesses on the scene told News24 reporter Tammy Petersen that the deceased man was “dressed in all black with only his eyes showing”.
He then began “shooting in all directions”. The man then turned the gun on himself and shot himself in the mouth.
A few tweets from those on the scene sums up the chaos.
It seems like the gunman managed only to harm himself with no reports of bystanders injured in the shooting.
