This is so beyond me right now that all I can muster is a “Whoa, this is too cool.”
Using WiFi, you connect the drone to your cellphone which you then attach to your head using a virtual reality headset. Deep.
The drone is then connected to a paper airplane, equipped with a live-streaming camera that can be controlled by the headset.
Still following? Kidding, it’s quite simple actually.
It’s called the PowerUp FPV and the dude who created it paired up with Parrot to share their technology that streams video over WiFi which is then used to pilot the drone via an app. Yeah yeah, we know there’s hardly any WiFi anywhere outside, but don’t even worry about that. The drone broadcasts its own WiFi up to 300 feet. Boom. When the drone flies out of range, it automatically crash lands itself.
Basically, if you’ve never used a virtual reality app, the drone flies in which ever direction you point your head.
