I wonder what Matt Damon would say about all this, I hope Ben Affleck asked his permission first.

Ben has decorated his back with a massive colour phoenix, a few recent pictures confirming that he has spent considerable time getting inked. US Magazine spills the beans:

The colorful [sic] ink covers the entirety of his back and features what appears to be a phoenix with its wings spread wide across his shoulder blades.

A full shot of the new tattoo was captured by photographers on Tuesday, Dec. 8, while Affleck was working on the Los Angeles set of his upcoming film Live by Night…And the telling body art — the phoenix, of course, is a mythological creature and a symbol of rebirth and reinvention — is the real deal…

“He got it done at home recently,” the insider [said].

In case you weren’t sure if it reached all the way down to his plumber’s crack here’s another picture confirming the full length of the tattoo.

I wonder if this new ink has anything to do with his recent divorce from Jennifer Garner after ten years of marriage, rumours circulating that Affleck had been getting too cosy with the family nanny.

It’s a different world over there in Los Angeles.
