Huawei have obviously grown a little weary of having the company’s name mispronounced, taking to the streets of New York and putting peeps on the spot. I guess they’re growing and want to spread the word, with this below from AndroidCentral:
Huawei’s sales have gone through the roof in recent years — the company turned over $32 Billion last year which was a 11% increase on 2010. With the Chinese company now selling its own brand devices overseas, it makes sense that it’s trying to get consumers better acquainted with its name.
I’m OK with admitting that I pronounced it incorrectly. You know what I do pronounce correctly? Tanzania, which is not Tan-Zayn-Ia for the last bloody time.
