Awesome Photos Of U.S. Presidents Rocking Their Shades Throughout History [Gallery]

Capturing a president wearing sunglasses is a lot like seeing them in their underwear - it's rare, and an insightful look into their personal fashion choice.

There’s nothing as intimidating as a person in power who happens to wear sunglasses as a staple, but sometimes catching them in the act is harder than you might think.

Sunglasses have certainly evolved from days of yore to the plethora of options we have today. Think of Roman Emperor Nero looking through polished diamonds or emeralds to watch gladiators fight, or Chinese judges who adopted a poker face with the help of black lenses.

We took you through the evolution of sunglasses a while back.

Back to those politicians – U.S. presidents have traditionally worn them mostly for practical purposes, like fishing. In fact, it was considered rude to wear sunglasses as the people they led wouldn’t trust them.

But, even with that said, some U.S presidents have been captured sporting eyewear of their choice – and while some look hilarious, others are just as intimidating as the fashion powers of Karl and Anna who set trends and inspire brands such as the ones seen in Sunglass Hut.

Sure you’re not going to be the leader of the free world any time soon, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still rock a pair of sunnies.

We stick with the good stuff HERE, because you’re far better than a knock-off pair you snapped up on the beach.
