Usually after a celeb or sports star ‘blooper’ we’re treated to a prepared statement released on social media, so props to Aaron Smith for taking this one on the chin.
In case you missed yesterday’s story (HERE), Smith was caught entering a disabled toilet at Christchurch Airport with an unidentified woman. Witnesses described hearing around 10 minutes of “rhythmic tapping noises”, so I’m sure you can fill in the gaps.
Smith will miss tomorrow’s match against the Boks, and he’s catching plenty of heat for his actions over in New Zealand. That woman he entered the stall with was not his partner, Teagan Voykovich, so you can bet he’ll be in the dog box back at home.
Here’s the video apology Smith offered:
Yoh – emotions.
We’ll leave you with this, the All Black team set to wallop do battle with the Springboks in Durban tomorrow:
15 Ben Smith, 14 Israel Dagg, 13 Anton Lienert-Brown, 12 Ryan Crotty, 11 Waisake Naholo, 10 Beauden Barrett, 9 TJ Perenara, 8 Kieran Read (captain), 7 Matt Todd, 6 Jerome Kaino, 5 Sam Whitelock, 4 Brodie Retallick, 3 Owen Franks, 2 Dane Coles, 1 Joe Moody
Substitutes: 16 Codie Taylor, 17 Wyatt Crockett, 18 Charlie Faumuina, 19 Liam Squire, 20 Ardie Savea, 21 Tawera Kerr-Barlow, 22 Lima Sopoaga, 23 George Moala
Good luck Bokke, best you bring your A game.
