Whenever you see a famous person make a rare appearance in a major magazine feature, you should know that something is coming.
We got the hint that Die Antwoord was returning when Ninja told that cray-cray tale for VICELAND just the other day.
The story, which stars Drake and Kanye playing basketball with Ninja, was magical, humorous and colourful – basically the exact opposite of what Die Antwoord had in store for us all along.
Called Tommy Can’t Sleep, their latest offering is a short film that stars their daughter, 16 Jones, as Lil’ Tommy, and Jack Black as Big Tommy.
Directed by ¥o-landi Vi$$er, they have reconnected with Roger Ballen for the art direction – which is clear from the black-and-white style, as well as those line drawings seen all over the show.
The idea is that Tommy can’t sleep because there are rats in his room, and his “stupid f*ckin dumb bitch mom doesn’t believe him”.
Indeed, that’s the kind of language that you will hear, straight out of foul-mouthed Lil’ Tommy’s mouth.
When Lil’ Tommy returns to his bed, his dreams are a lucid, rat-filled mess.
Ready? You better be:
Remember when we introduced you to 16 back in 2012? Who would have thought she would jump so heavily on her parents’ bandwagon.
Damn, girl.
