It’s been a pretty decent month for the gay community in Australia, the country overwhelmingly voting in favour of legalising same-sex marriages during a referendum.
62% of those who responded voted in favour, which is shy of the 69% many of us hoped for, but that’s a story for another day.
Well done and welcome to the 21st century, ‘Stralia, although parliament will still have to pass the law before same-sex marriages are officially legalised.
One bloke who doesn’t seem all that bothered is Bob Katter, who originally campaigned to resist changing the marriage law.
He has changed his tune since the results were in, but he is now very worked up about a problem facing the people of north Queensland.
I’ll say no more:
Hows that segue?
It’s not a laughing matter, given that 11 people have been killed by crocs in Queensland since 1985, but Bob makes it hard not to crack a smile.
