Make my life more simple and less expensive, please.

I feel like that’s my rallying cry for 2018, and when you come across a good thing you should share it with the world.

Now some people might tell you that there is an art to finding a good deal on flights, but then there are all those other things to worry about.

Airport transfers, hotels, booking a car rental – so many variables, and who really wants to go in and sit with a travel agent.

Life is busy, and I don’t want to battle traffic to make it to some sit down with an agent when these things should be done online.

Local startup More Cheap Flights are onto a good thing here, because their site compares cheap flights and hotels from hundreds of airlines and travel agents around the world to find the best deal.

It’s all rather simple – search, filter and book your flights and/or hotels.

    Search, filter, book.

Here’s what I really dig – the price you see is the price you pay. No bogus late add-ons like fuel charges, taxes or nonsense like that.

What, I paid for an air ticket that doesn’t include the fuel to fly the plane? Tsek with that.

They also only work with reputable booking agents, so you’re not going to hand over your dollar bills and be left in the dark.

Here’s what happens each step of the way when it comes to flights:

    SEARCH

    • Search and compare the cheapest flights to your destination for free.
    • Find the cheapest days to fly with their interactive Price Calendar and Chart View.

    FILTER

    • Only see the flights that fit your price range, airport, airlines, number of stops, take-off and landing times.
    • Filter results by the cheapest flight, the quickest flight, and more.

    BOOK

    • Take a look at checked baggage and seat reservation fees, so you’re always prepared before booking.
    • Stay up to date on maximum carry-on or hand-luggage sizes, and luggage weights to avoid extra baggage costs.
    • See a snapshot of your selected flight dates and times so you can review before booking.

You did all of that online, and you’re living your best life now. Just be sure to give the site a little time to search, because it’s casting a wide net to land you the best deal.

The hotel booking is the same vibe:

On the site, you’ll also find links to an airport transfer booking service, a car rental service and a bike booking service (go eco-warrior).

The prices will change all the time, and there are plenty of super savers available at any time from a range of destinations.

Here’s a little snapshot of what we’re looking at right now, although this will change as the flight prices do.

    RETURN FLIGHTS – that’s important:

From Jozi to Cape Town and back for under R1 400? Not bad at all.

There’s nothing like healthy competition to keep everyone on their toes, and it’s clear that More Cheap Flights are here to shake things up.

Go on then – have a snoop around here and see if you can wangle a little time away from work.

Call it #wanderlust if you must, but we’re all up for a little time away if it doesn’t damage the bank account too severely.

    Go forth and prosper.
