Tesla Car Spontaneously Combusts [Video]

A British director's Tesla suddenly burst into flames in the streets of Los Angeles over the weekend, and Tesla is stepping up to investigate.

What is it with Tesla’s cars?

First, someone was killed in one of Tesla’s self-driving cars, and now another one of their vehicles has spontaneously burst into flame.

The incident took place over the weekend in Los Angeles. The car, driven by British TV director Michael Morris, went up in flames while he was caught in traffic on Santa Monica Boulevard, a report by the BBC explains.

Morris’ wife, actress Mary McCormack, uploaded dramatic footage of the flaming vehicle to her Twitter account:

Friggin’ hectic. It’s a damn lucky thing that no one was injured when this went down.

Firefighters were called in and the fire was soon extinguished. McCormack later tweeted that the car “wasn’t a Tesla with auto pilot or whatever. It was a normal Tesla”.

Still, it’s not a good look for Tesla. I mean, if a vehicle of theirs combusts without warning, it begs an explanation, and a bloody good one at that.

A Tesla spokesperson spoke to ABC News:

We offer our support to local authorities and are glad our customer is safe. This is an extraordinarily unusual occurrence, and we are investigating the incident to find out what happened.

Ja, we’ll take your word for it, pal.

This probably won’t help Elon Musk much while he’s busy having his media meltdown.

Maybe he should actually step away from social media to sort all this kak out, before something like this happens again.
