This weekend, Western Province take on the Sharks in what may be the final Currie Cup final ever at Newlands.
I’m sure I can’t be alone in feeling like the competition has lost some of its gloss over the past few years, but it will still be a pretty special occasion.
A few steps below the Currie Cup, you’ll find the Gold Cup, which still manages to produce some outstanding talent. This past weekend in Wellington, the crowd at the match between Roses and Protea saw a simply outstanding try, with Roses going the length of the field to score after some supreme handling skills:
TRY OF THE YEAR? Outrageous skills from @RosesUnitedRFC in their Boland Grand Challenge quarterfinal win over Protea in Wellington. If you haven’t watched a club game recently, this is what you’re missing on a weekly basis at community fields across the country! pic.twitter.com/ROiPEXOa9e
